The altar is a sacred place where God gives us his gifts and we give our gifts to God. Only important things are put on the altar. The bible is placed at the centre of our altar, reminding us that God’s Word is central to all we do in worship. God gives us his gifts in Holy Communion and we give him our gifts of an offering.
