The butterfly is an Easter symbol. It represents the new life that Jesus gives us in his resurrection.

Christ Candle

The Christ Candle is also known as the Easter Candle or the Paschal Candle. It is a special candle that is new every year at Easter.

Water is a symbol of baptism. Baptism is a sacrament – one of the ways that God comes to us in very real ways.

Flames represent the Holy Spirit coming to the disciples at Pentecost.

The dove is a symbol of the Holy Spirit.

The Cup and the Plate symbolise Holy Communion – one of the two sacraments in Lutheran worship.

We use candles to show that it is a time of worship. Candles symbolise Jesus’ words: “I am the light of the world.”

The Bible is God’s Word for us. It contains the Good News of what Jesus has done for us.

Jesus said, ” I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.”

A crucifix is a cross that shows Jesus on it. It is a symbol that reminds us that he died for the sins of the world.
